CLIMATE
This reality isn’t just a slogan, it comes from a climatic study carried out by the company, Meteogroup, and which is sponsored by El Fuerte Group. This study demonstrates that Torrox meets all of the factors for a balanced climate, thanks to its latitude of 36° 43′ North and its proximity to the Mediterranean sea. This reduces temperature variations, in addition to the shelter provided by the Tejada, Almijara mountain ranges and Penibetic mountain range, a combination that gives moderate temperatures in Torrox both in winter and summer. It boasts mild winters and gentle summers.
WHAT TO VISIT

Torrox lighthouse is the town’s star attraction. Built in 1864, this maritime lighthouse is one of the only lighthouses in the province of Malaga which is open to the public.
This building once belonged to one of the most important families in this area’s history. In 1885, King Alfonso XII spent the night in this building during his visit to the Axarquía area.
This square is the nerve centre of the historic quarter. Various short and long walks start from this location every day of the year. Its classic colourful umbrellas are a highlight, making this a charming and adorable space.
This hermitage, built on a former oratory, boasts a Neo-Mudejar style, dating back to the 16th century, one nave and main chapel with a hemispherical dome on spandrels.

CULTURE
The extensive cultural offer which encapsulates Torrox, from the Roman archaeological sites to the watchtowers from the Muslim era, and the era’s churches, palaces and museums that embrace art and history.
Clavicum: Settlement with thermal baths, town, garum factory and necropolis dating back to the 3rd and 4th centuries B.C.
Built on top of the ancient Aljama mosque at the start of the seventeenth century, it was rebuilt in 1889. With a Baroque structure and laid out in the shape of a Latin cross.
This formed part of the extensive coastal defence system which, for several centuries, was used to prevent attacks from enemy ships.
A construction to defend and survey the coastline, dating back to around the 16th century, it has been restored in subsequent centuries.

INFRASTRUCTURE
Torrox, a privileged place in the province of Malaga, is proud of its infrastructure in terms of accommodation and the high quality services it offers visitors.
